Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:79
Therefore woe be unto those who write the Scripture with their hands and then say, "This is from Allah," that they may purchase a small gain therewith. Woe unto them for that their hands have written, and woe unto them for that they earn thereby.
Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:141
Those are a people who have passed away; theirs is that which they earned and yours that which you earn. And you will not be asked of what they used to do.
Al-Imran (The Family of Imran) 3:92
You will not attain unto piety until you spend of that which you love. And whatsoever you spend, Allah is Aware thereof.
Al-Anfal (The Spoils of War) 8:51
This is for that which your own hands have sent before (to the Judgment), and (know) that Allah is not a tyrant to His slaves.
Al-Anfal (The Spoils of War) 8:53
That is because Allah never changes the grace He has bestowed on any people until they first change that which is in their hearts, and (that is) because Allah is Hearer, Knower.
Ar-Ra'd (The Thunder) 13:11
For him are angels ranged before him and behind him, who guard him by Allah's command. Verily! Allah changes not the condition of a folk until they (first) change that which is in their hearts; and if Allah will misfortune for a folk there is none that can repel it, nor have they a defender beside Him.
Maryam (Mary) 19:37
But the sects differ among themselves: and woe to the Unbelievers because of the (coming) Judgment of a momentous Day!
Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) 21:14
They said: "Ah! woe to us! We were indeed wrong―doers!"
Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! That were the thought of Unbelievers! But woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)!
Fussilat (Explained in Detail) 41:46
Whoever works righteousness benefits his own soul; whoever works evil, it is against his own soul: nor is the Lord ever unjust (in the least) to His servants.
Al-Jathiya (The Kneeling) 45:15
If anyone does a righteous deed, it ensures to the benefit of it own soul; if he does evil, it works against (his own soul). In the end will you (all) be brought back to your Lord.
At-Tur (The Mount) 52:21
And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith― to them shall We join their families: nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds.
An-Najm (The Star) 53:39-42
And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, (39) And that his effort will be seen. (40) And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; (41) And that thy Lord, He is the goal; (42)
Al-Hadid (Iron) 57:27
Then We caused Our messengers to follow in their footsteps; and We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow, and gave him the Gospel, and placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. But monasticism they invented - We ordained it not for them - only seeking Allah's pleasure, and they observed it not with right observance. So We give those of them who believe their reward, but many of them are evil-livers.
Al-Muddaththir (The One Enveloped) 74:31
And We did not make wardens of the Fire but (from) angels, and did not fix their number but as a test for those who disbelieve, 8 so that those who are given the Book may come to believe, 9 and those who believe may improve in belief, and so that those who are given the Book and those who believe may not doubt (its correctness), and so that those having malady in their hearts and the disbelievers say, “What has Allah meant by this strange statement?” Thus Allah lets go astray whomever He wills, and leads to the right path whomever He wills. And no one knows the hosts of your Lord but He. And this is nothing else but a reminder for mankind.
An-Naziat (Those Who Pull Out) 79:34-38
So when the Greatest Havoc will take place (34) On the day when man will recall what he did, (35) And the Hell will be exposed for all who see, (36) Then for the one who had rebelled, (37) And preferred the worldly life (to the Hereafter), (38)
No one else, only you will be responsible;
Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:48
And fear a Day (of Judgement) when a person shall not avail another, nor will intercession (the action of intervening on behalf of another) be accepted from him nor will compensation be taken from him nor will they be helped.
Al-An'am (The Cattle) 6:70
And leave alone those who take their religion as play and amusement, and whom the life of this world has deceived. But remind (them) with it (the Qur'ân) lest a person be given up to destruction for that which he has earned, when he will find for himself no protector or intercessor besides Allâh, and even if he offers every ransom, it will not be accepted from him. Such are they who are given up to destruction because of that which they have earned. For them will be a drink of boiling water and a painful torment (severe physical or mental suffering) because they used to disbelieve.
Al-An'am (The Cattle) 6:93
And who can be more unjust than he who invents a lie against Allâh, or says: "A revelation has come to me," whereas as no revelation has come to him in anything; and who says, "I will reveal the like of what Allâh has revealed." And if you could but see when the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) are in the agonies (severe physical or mental suffering) of death, while the angels are stretching forth their hands (saying): "Deliver your souls! This day you shall be recompensed with the torment of degradation because of what you used to utter against Allâh other than the truth. And you used to reject His Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations etc.) with disrespect!"
Al-An'am (The Cattle) 6:164 - 165
Say: "Shall I seek a lord other than Allâh, while He is the Lord of all things? No person earns any (sin) except against himself (only), and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then unto your Lord is your return, so He will tell you that wherein you have been differing." (164) And it is He Who has made you generations coming after generations, replacing each other on the earth. And He has raised you in ranks, some above others that He may try you in that which He has bestowed on you. Surely your Lord is Swift in retribution (punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act), and certainly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (165)
To Him is the return of all of you. The Promise of Allâh is true. It is He Who begins the creation and then will repeat it, that He may reward with justice those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and did deeds of righteousness. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of boiling fluids and painful torment because they used to disbelieve.
Al-Isra (The Journey by Night) Bani Israel 17:52
On the Day when He will call you, and you will answer (His Call) with (words of) His Praise and Obedience, and you will think that you have stayed (in this world) but a little while!
Maryam (Mary) 19:83
See you not that We have sent the Shayâtin (devils) against the disbelievers to push them to do evil.
Maryam (Mary) 19:86
And We shall drive the Mujrimûn (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) to Hell, in a thirsty state (like a thirsty herd driven down to water).
Then High above all be Allâh, the True King. And be not in haste with the Qur'ân before its revelation is completed to you, and say: "My Lord! Increase me in knowledge."
Al-Mu'minun (The Believers) 23:101
Then, when the Trumpet (the loud shrill cry of an animal, especially an elephant) is blown, there will be no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask of one another.
Ash-Shu'ara (The Poets) 26:88
The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail.
Ar-Rum (The Romans) 30:12 -14
And on the Day when the Hour will be established, the Mujrimûn (disbelievers, sinners, criminals, polytheists) will be plunged into destruction with (deep regrets, sorrows, and) despair. (12) No intercessors will they have from those whom they made equal with Allâh (partners i.e. their so¬called associate gods), and they will (themselves) reject and deny their partners. (13) And on the Day when the Hour will be established, that Day shall (all men) be separated (i.e the believers will be separated from the disbelievers). (14)
Luqman (Luqman) 31:33
O mankind! Be afraid of your Lord (by keeping your duty to Him and avoiding all evil), and fear a Day when no father can avail aught (anything) for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the Promise of Allâh is true, let not then this (worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allâh.
Saba' (Sheba) 34:42
So Today (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), none of you can profit or harm one another. And We shall say to those who did wrong [i.e. worshipped others (jinn) along with Allâh]: "Taste the torment of the Fire which you used to deny.
Fatir (The Originator of Creation) 35:15
O mankind! it is you who stand in need of Allâh, But Allâh is Rich (Free of all needs), Worthy of all praise.
Fatir (The Originator of Creation) 35:19
Not alike are the blind (disbelievers in Islâmic Monotheism) and the seeing (believers in Islâmic Monotheism).
Ghafir (The Forgiver) Momin 40:18
And warn them of the Day that is drawing near (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), when the hearts will be choking the throats, and they can neither return them (hearts) to their chests nor can they throw them out. There will be no friend, nor an intercessor for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers), who could be given heed (careful attention) to.
Fussilat (Explained in Detail) Saafaat 41:47
To Him (Alone) is referred the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit comes out of its sheath (cover), nor does a female conceive, nor brings forth (young), except by His Knowledge. And on the Day when He will call unto them (polytheists) (saying): "Where are My (so-called) partners (whom you did invent)?" They will say: "We inform You that none of us bears witness to it (that they are Your partners)!"
Ash-Shura (The Consultation) 42:46
And they will have no Auliyâ' (protectors, helper, guardian, lords) to help them other than Allâh. And he whom Allâh sends astray (away from the correct path or direction), for him there is no way.
Az-Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) 43:67
On that Day, [erstwhile (former, old, past)] friends will be foes unto one another - [all] save the God-conscious.
Az-Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) 43:86
And those whom they invoke [cite or appeal to (someone or something) as an authority for an action or in support of an argument] instead of Him have no power of intercession — except for those who bear witness to the truth knowingly (i.e. believed in the Oneness of Allâh, and obeyed His Orders), and they know (the facts about the Oneness of Allâh).
Ad-Dukhan (The Smoke) 44:41
The Day when Maula (a near relative) cannot avail Maula (a near relative) in aught (anything), and no help can they receive.
Al-Ahqaf (The Curved Sandhills) 46:6
And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become their enemies and will deny their worshipping.
An-Najm (The Star) 53:26
And there are many angels in the heavens, whose intercession will avail nothing except after Allâh has given leave for whom He wills and is pleased with.
Al-Mumtahinah (The Examined One) 60:3
Neither your relatives nor your children will benefit you on the Day of Resurrection (against Allâh). He will judge between you. And Allâh is the All-Seer of what you do.
Al-Haqqah (The Reality) 69:35
So no friend has he here this Day.
Al-Ma'arig (The Ways of Ascent) 70:10 - 14
And no friend will ask a friend (about his condition), (10) Though they shall be made to see one another [(i.e. on the Day of Resurrection), there will be none but see his father, children and relatives, but he will neither speak to them nor will ask them for any help]. The Mujrim, (criminal, sinner, disbeliever) would desire to ransom (a sum of money or other payment demanded or paid for the release of a prisoner) himself from the punishment of that Day by his children. (11) And his wife and his brother, (12) And his kindred (one's family and relations) who sheltered him, (13) And all that are in the earth, so that it might save him. (14)
'Abasa (He Frowned) 80:34 - 37
That Day shall a man flee from his brother, (34) And from his mother and his father, (35) And from his wife and his children. (36) Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. (37)
Al-Infitar (The Cleaving) 82:19
(It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allâh.
Dialogue of false leaders and followers;
Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:165 - 167
And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allâh as rivals (to Allâh). They love them as they love Allâh. But those who believe, love Allâh more (than anything else). If only, those who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment, that all power belongs to Allâh and that Allâh is Severe in punishment. (165) When those who were followed, disown (declare themselves innocent of) those who followed (them), and they see the torment, then all their relations will be cut off from them. (166)
And those who have earned evil deeds, the recompense (compensation or reward given for loss or harm suffered or effort made)of an evil deed is the like thereof, and humiliating disgrace will cover them (their faces). No defender will they have from Allâh. Their faces will be covered, as it were with pieces from the darkness of night. They are dwellers of the Fire, they will abide therein forever. (27) And the Day whereon We shall gather them all together, then We shall say to those who did set partners in worship with Us: "Stop at your place! You and your partners (whom you had worshipped in the worldly life)." then We shall separate them, and their (Allâh's so-called) partners shall say: "It was not us that you used to worship." (28)
Ibrahim (Abraham) 14:21 - 22
And they all shall appear before Allâh (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): "Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything against Allâh's Torment?" They will say: "Had Allâh guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage (violent, uncontrollable anger), or bear (these torments) with patience, there is no place of refuge for us." (21) And Shaitân (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: "Verily, Allâh promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, so you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allâh (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)." (22)
An-Nahl (The Bee) 16:85 - 87
And when those who did wrong (the disbelievers) will see the torment, then it will not be lightened unto them, nor will they be given respite (postpone). (85) And when those who associated partners with Allâh see their (Allâh's so-called) partners, they will say: "Our Lord! These are our partners whom we used to invoke besides you." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Surely! You indeed are liars!" (86) And they will offer (their full) submission to Allâh (Alone) on that Day, and their invented false deities [all that they used to invoke besides Allâh, e.g. idols, priests, monks, jinn) will vanish from them. (87) Those who disbelieved and hinder (men) from the Path of Allâh, for them We will add torment to the torment; because they used to spread corruption [by disobeying Allâh themselves, as well as ordering others (mankind) to do so]. (88)
Al-Qasas (The Narration) 28:62 - 64
And (remember) the Day when He will call to them, and say: "Where are My (so-called) partners whom you used to assert?" (62) Those about whom the Word will have come true (to be punished) will say: "Our Lord! These are they whom we led astray. We led them astray, as we were astray ourselves. We declare our innocence (from them) before You. It was not us they worshipped." (63) And it will be said (to them): "Call upon your (so-called) partners (of Allâh), and they will call upon them, but they will give no answer to them, and they will see the torment. (They will then wish) if only they had been guided! (64)
Al-'Ankabut (The Spider) 29:25
And [Ibrâhim (Abraham)] said: "You have taken (for worship) idols instead of Allâh, The love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your abode (a place of residence) will be the Fire, and you shall have no helper."
Saba' (Sheba) 34:32 - 33
And those who were arrogant will say to those who were deemed weak: "Did we keep you back from guidance after it had come to you? Nay, but you were Mujrimûn (polytheists, sinners, disbelieveres, criminals). (32) Those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant: "Nay, but it was your plotting by night and day, when you ordered us to disbelieve in Allâh and set up rivals to Him!" And each of them (parties) will conceal their own regrets (for disobeying Allâh during this worldly life), when they behold the torment. And We shall put iron collars round the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they requited (make appropriate return for) aught except what they used to do? (33)
As-Saffat (The Rangers) 37:25 - 33
"What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" (25) Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, (26) And they will turn to one another and question one another. (27) They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, enjoin on us polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and from every good deed]." (28) They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. (29) "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were Taghun (transgressing) people (polytheists, and disbelievers). (30) "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). (31) "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." (32) Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. (33)
Qaf 50:27 -29
His companion (Satan — devil)] will say: "Our Lord! I did not push him to transgression, (in disbelief, oppression, and evil deeds) but he was himself in error far astray." (27) Allâh will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. (28) The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust to the slaves." (29)
